Welcome to Our Family T.E.A.M.

AAMFT organized the Family Therapy Education and Advocacy Movement (Family TEAM). to be the frontline organization at the national and state levels to advance and defend the profession of Marriage and Family Therapy.

Family TEAM is made up of volunteers from each state who are dedicated to advancing pro-MFT policies at all levels of government and regulation.

Here you can meet Colorado’s TEAM leader, stay up to date on the current issues, and find out how to get more involved.

Welcome to the T.E.A.M.!

Dr. Reo Leslie, LPC, LMFT, LAC, RPT-S, MAC, ACS, Family T.E.A.M. Leader, with his wife, Dr. Eveleyn Leslie.

Dr. Reo Leslie is the Director of the Colorado School for Family Therapy. He has been an AAMFT Approved Supervisor since 1996. Dr. Leslie has taught MFT on the Masters and Doctoral level at Argosy University. Along with his wife, Dr. Evelyn Leslie, he helped rewrite the Colorado Mental Practice Act (12-245).

Dr. Leslie received an award from the Speaker of the Colorado House, President of the Colorado Senate, and the Black Democratic Caucus for his legislative and community service.

Family TEAM is made up of Therapists Just Like You

They don’t have a background in lobbying or politics. They are LMFTs and MFTCs who want to make a difference in shaping Colorado policy and law around their profession.

So how do you get involved?

JOIN THE TEAM

Joining is simple. Visit the AAMFT Family TEAM homepage and click the red “Sign Up” button. Once you’re signed up, you’ll get access to the email list with current updates and discussions of the Family TEAM members.

GET FAMILIAR

Dr. Leslie has provided some great handouts to help Family TEAM members familiarize themselves with the legislative process and reduce any anxieties about getting involved.

STAY UP TO DATE

Keep an eye on your email for messages from Dr. Leslie about training opportunities, legislative updates, and calls to action such as virtually testifying on bills (which is NOT as complicated or overwhelming as it sounds).

A strong MFT advocacy presence is crucial for protecting our profession.

Be a part of it and join the TEAM!
