Advanced Training for Professionals Working with Queer Youth clients!
Denver Family Institute’s “Queer Youth Program” is the nation’s FIRST Advanced Training Curriculum designed for clinicians, mental health providers, counselors, and other professionals working with LGBTQIA+ / queer youth (ages 10 - 24). The 18-week program (which provides up to 30 CEs) contains asynchronous & synchronous educational content that pertains to the various intersectionalities that a queer youth can encounter, along with strategies and cultural competencies for navigating various situations. The content was created by queer and allied licensed social workers, counselors, clinicians, & mental health professionals to help promote the idea of queer affirmation in systemic therapy.
DFI is proud to announce that the inaugural QYP cohort in January 2025 brought together 12 mental health professionals across two states that served over 300 queer youth and their families! DFI is currently hosting Information Sessions for those interested in learning about the program ahead of the July 2025 cohort.
